fox_the_kitsuneSo.... I am reading one of the Myth and Mankind books, this one being 'Realm of the Rising Sun: Japanese Myth' and... I came across a picture in this book that just makes some anime scenes make so much sense. The title of the picture is the 'The Second War between Mochi and Sake'and... it's odd. I would scan it and show it if I felt like playing around with the scanner right now, but I don't, so, yeah.
Anyway... In this picture, a group of spirits are shown fighting. On the one side, there are a bunch of spirits with tea kettles, rice bowls, tea cups and bags of rice for their heads. They are fighting with a group with fish for their heads and this second group it lead by an octopus... in a kimono and wearing a genki band.
I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. I am, however, highly amused.
