fox_the_kitsune: Also no idea where I got the picture (Hnnn)
I suppose I'm doing better than I could be over certain results that indicate just how many absolute MORONS live in the USA, but that might just be because my brain might prefer to feed itself to video games and fan fiction rather than anxiety and rage. This shit still sucks, though.

Let's talk about something else.

Mild spoilers for a mobile game in here. )

Maybe I should have posted something when I finished Echoes of Wisdom. Maybe I'll talk about that if I need something else to keep my brain occupied.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
It's still being eaten by BotW/ToTK fan fiction stuff. I wish I could get my ass in gear on getting that fic stuff postable.

Other than that, I played Princess Peach Showtime! and enjoyed it. Waffling about doing the post-game stuff, but then again, I'm also waffling about post-game stuff in Super Mario RPG remake. I live streamed both games, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to stream the post-game stuff from either.

Job still sucks but I have actually prodded my back log of games a bit.

Eh. I live. That's main point of this post.

Oh.

I also started playing a mobile game called Twisted Wonderland. It's... a thing. Maybe I'll have a better sumary next post... whenever that is.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
And now my brain is being eaten by fan fiction. Not that it isn't normally, but Tears of the Kingdom has caused me a large shift in which fic is eating my brain. Breath of the Wild had already tweaked me a little bit, but now?

I'd actually rather be poking at my wips than doing this. |D

That said, other than all that, I live. My job still sucks, the world is still a dumpster fire. I still need to get my ass in gear on some shit for my livestreaming stuff.

Still.... still debating Tumblr. Still waiting to see if they'll either get rid of the live thing or make it opt in instead of opt out that you have to remember to do again once a week. Blegh.

I have such a back log of games, but my brain is muse chow for fic stuff right now.

Anyway, that's where shit's at for me. How is it out there in the void?
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
So, I did set an alert to post more often. My intention was to try to post once a week. My timing for attempting this sucks. The last post was two days before Tears of the Kingdom dropped. I bought it the Sunday after it dropped.

Other things that have happened between then and now are having to get my car inspected... late and having it need some stuff fixed in order to pass. Since the place I took it for inspection was relatively close to a movie theater, I dragged my sister with me and we went to see Across the Spider-Verse. I hope the next one comes out next March like I've heard. It seems like they'd originally intended to make one two-part movie, but somewhere along the line, they decided on the next part being a separate movie. But, like, a lot of it ought to already be done given the original intent? I dunno.

As for my car, some of the work it needs got done the next day when I called a recommended mechanic and they had time the same day to get me in. Now I just money to clear for one other thing and a part to come in for the other other thing. That's not a typo. I'm being a weird goblin about it on purpose.

Speaking of goblins, Tears of the Kingdom is basically Goblin Simulator. Not that Breath of the Wild wasn't a little of that, but they're kind of running with it here. I am making very slow progress with the plot because the fucking around and finding out in this game is entertaining. Well, that and my work schedule sucks.

Anyways, I live. Saw a movie, playing through a new game, adulting. Stuff. That's all there is.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
Maybe I should set myself a regular alert to post something here. It might be worth a shot.

Work has picked up enough that I am sorely tempted to point out to HR that I signed on for part-time for Reasons, but they've been scheduling me basically full time so hey, maybe just make me fuckin' full time? They won't, because then they would have to keep me full time through the slow times and I'd genuinely rather not anyway because it puts serious cramps in my livestreaming schedule.

Retail sucks.

Current streaming series is Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which I am NOT going to be finishing before Tears of the Kingdom drops because of the retail bullshit above. I think I left off it having finished the last forced doggo section. Not 100% sure what I'm going to do when I stream it... later today seeing as it's after midnight as I'm writing this. |D

Incidentally, I don't have a link or give the name of my streaming stuff here mostly because of the fandom stuff I do here. I'm only really talking about it here because I haven't really got much else to talk about besides just playing the games and bitching about my life.

Outside of streaming, I've been playing Dragon Quest Treasures. I'm on the post-endgame stuff. It's a cute game. The treasure hoard you build up is an entertaining way to do a museum game, I think. The treasures are a little like the trophies from the Smash Bros. games, just for one series rather than a crap load of different series. I haven't even played much of Dragon Quest besides this, just played through most of the first game when it got ported to GBA and... got very, very stuck on the final boss. Saw a demo for Treasures on Switch and tried it and liked it so hey, I'm playing it. Also bought the remasters of the first three games because they were available for cheap. Don't know when I'll get around to playing them, but I've got them.

You know, I was toying with going to bed when I started writing this. I should probably do that. I am tired and just getting done with being sick.

Maybe my brain will cooperate with posting more often. Until next time...
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
At some point, I will try to properly socialize more on this site. Maybe try to find some people I was interacting with who fled here from LJ when I did. Although, some of those people are on tumblr and I've just kind of been lurking there and looking at their stuff without getting and account... for a very long time. I was thinking of getting an account, but now there's this tumblr live bullshit that you can't opt out of or permanently disable. You can only snooze it and it's a major invasion of privacy... that is annoyingly timed considering the bird site is on fire and and tumblr is one of the better alternatives.

Let's get off that topic.

Re: my last post, that Minecraft modpack I was streaming at the time imploded on itself when an item I needed for the quest book decided to to have a game breaking glitch attached to it that crashed the game every time I opened the chest I'd put it in. I genuinely have no idea what it even was other than that it belonged to the Draconic Evolution mod because that was the crap I had in the chest. So that was fun. I think I did another Zelda: OoT randomizer between that and a vanilla playthrough in 1.19. I say 'vanilla' loosely because it wasn't in the Java version, but Bedrock. I can't play with mouse and keyboard and Java has no proper controller support without mods. So that was fun for a bit. Finished it off with killing the Wither, took a day or two off from streaming and then started up a playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. As far as that goes, I've completed the Forsaken Fortress gotten the elemental arrows, the iron boots and the bracelets. And my next stream is going to entail mopping up any treasures I can get at that point and then advancing the plot.

The other thing in my last post is... something I should finish up. XD I talked about Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road finally releasing its offline version and how easy progressing was without new cards relying on the RNG and at this point... I'm sitting at the last quest waffling about whether to try to get all the stat boosts from the bestiary and cards or just going ahead and finishing the game. Note that I have not actually played the game in about... three months? I think? Hoo boy.

As far as work goes, it's fucking retail in a big box store. This is currently a slow time and everyone's hours are spotty. I had six days in a row off, though admittedly two of those were just my normal weekly days off, but the other four were within my availability.

Far too many of these posts have been occurring late at night after work. That might be why they're so rambly for just hollering into the void.

Don't get me started on the latest Pokemon games. Maybe I'll try to post again tomorrow (or really later as it's after midnight).
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
I have very little to report other than, hey, Dark Road finally released the offline version. And then I had trouble downloading the update and in a fit of stupid, thinking it might help, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled and... well, I've had to start over.

It's kind of amazing how quick you can get through it when you can just buy the card with the BP. You can amass the stat boosts from the collections pretty quick that way. No RNG to bog you down... at least in acquiring the cards. I mean, with the game being a card battler, RNG is a thing anyway. The world battle can still throw some curve balls. Like running the weakest Heartless in that particular battle for a while and then suddenly dropping the strongest on you. Or just starting with the strongest. I'm at a point at the moment where either scenario has a high chance to end a run on Wonderland 3.

In other gaming news, I am currently live streaming a skyblock Minecraft modpack built around bees. Or really, the main method of acquiring resources is from bees via the Resourceful Bees mod, which is kind of a spiritual successor to the bees from the old Forestry mod. I only need... two more bees, I think, but one is going to take forever because it needs a singularity from the Applied Energistics 2 mod and that means feeding tens of thousands of items into a Matter Condenser. The bee will then produce singularities from its honey combs.

Modded Minecraft is a trip, man.

In still other game related news with me, I am occasionally interspersing the long Minecraft play with other games and I am seriously toying with setting up a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time randomizer for one of these mix ins. But like, it would also be the first one where I randomize the entrances, and that... from what I have seen of watching other people, that is a trip.

All the things...

How is everyone out there in the void?
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
Blame the job.

Though I will say, one good thing that came out of getting a job is that it put me in a habit of announcing when my next live stream will be. I'm not sure if this contributed to the gradual increase in viewers or what and I haven't got the brain power to look into it, but I'm not going to complain either. I have 20 followers on Twitch as of this writing.

Current game for streaming, for long streams anyway, is Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This will be my third full play through of the game, though I am NOT getting more Korok seeds than I need to max out my inventory this time. I got all 900 the first two play throughs, the only way I would do it again is if I intended to make a guide to them. I do have a personal goal in this run of getting all the compendium pictures without buying them from Symin (you still get one unavoidable freebie from him when setting up the Sheikah Sensor, I think). I'm not doing all of that on stream because I do a lot of grinding for the armor upgrades off stream, so I run into the things I haven't got yet kind of frequently. It would be an exercise in insanity to make a note of it and try to do it all on stream. I'm also grabbing the Koroks when-the-fuck-ever I find them on or off stream because madness.

In other news, not only have I still not watched the live action Sonic movie with the second one being... out now I think(?), but I have bought more things I'll probably not getting around to watching any time soon. At least I saw Detective Pikachu in the theater rather than buying the DVD unseen. It was probably one of the last handful of movies I saw in a theater before the pandemic, actually.

I don't think I've the brains for more rambling right now...

How is it out there in the void?
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
Not much has changed from last post other than that I played a couple more indie RPGs. Er, well, I finished one and I'm still playing the second. I'm not finding either one interesting enough to keep talking about them.

Oh hey. How about Sora in fucking Smash Bros.? That threw me for a loop.

Meh. My brain is not in further commentary...
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
So... I am still working hours that are part time only on the technicality of being less than 40 hours. The place is still short staffed despite a recent hiring event getting some people. I can't say I'm surprised. Like most places, they complain about people not wanting to work for them, but they don't want to make the concessions that would get people to apply. And honestly? They have a thing that would probably help enticed prospective applicants, but they're not advertising it: healthcare benefits even for part time. I didn't know about this until I was called for an interview and had to sit and wait while the manager handling my interview was in a meeting. That left me plenty of time to look at some posters detailing job benefits and one of those benefits was healthcare for both full and part time employees. I don't know how many applicants that would bring in, given other reasons people don't want to work, but it might alleviate the problem of being short handed at least a little bit. Just a little. They hired five cashiers at that hiring event. ONE of them is on the closing shift with me.

I should probably consider asking for more money...

But enough about that bullshit. I've still been live streaming for a bit before work and on days off. I have a whopping 15 followers... woo. I could probably make that number grow faster if I had the brain energy to do stuff to help it along. Like, there are little viewer engagement things I could set up, following and hosting other streamers helps, a Twitter account might do some things for me, and just stuff. If only my brain was more cooperative.

Other than that, I have still not made up my mind about the madness that is tumblr. So I'm still just rambling into the void here.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
I got a job. Hence the half dead...

That also means finagling my streaming schedule around the job. It's mostly working out. I've been streaming for about an hour before work unless I have to be in too early to have time. Other than that, I'm just generally kind of tired. I'm supposed to be part time, but the place is so understaffed that I'm working nearly full time hours. Like, after 6PM yesterday, I was the ONLY cashier in the store. As such, I was keeping an eye on the self checkouts, which is effectively having three registers open as we have two self checkouts and the register at the attendant's station. Yesterday was not a fun day.

I realize I'm just kind of blabbering into the void here. I have been vaguely toying with getting a tumblr account, if only to shitpost and direct people here for my deeper thoughts and ramblings, should they be interested.

That's pretty much all that's going on with me right now.

Still here

fox_the_kitsune: (Blegh)
And, shit, my birthday is Tuesday. We're... not going to discuss my age here...

Since my last post, I have bought a car... outright with saved up money because being unemployed means I couldn't get a loan... and gotten the first dose of one of the two dose covid vaccines. Getting the second on the 14th and then I start doing some uber again while filling out job applications. Fun times.

Also still chugging along on live streaming stuff. It's slow going, but it's fun to do.

I'm toying with starting to share recipes here that I've tried and liked. That does require my brain to cooperate, but it might be something to do.

I don't have a whole lot going on otherwise.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
I have played and beaten another indie RPG since my last post. Called Grinsia I think. Not a bad game, but kind of generic. An optional party member you can pick up is a lemming. I think I've seen weirder possible party members in RPGs.

I don't have a whole lot going on other than... having bought the live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie on impulse a few days ago. Haven't watched it yet as of this entry. I mean, okay, I've heard it's actually good. And really, Jim Carrey as Eggman. A hammy character played by an appropriately hammy actor ought to be good. And honestly, I was toying with seeing it just for this actor and character combination anyway before the virus. I just procrastinated on it enough to miss out on seeing it in the theater.

Eh, whatever.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
I'm... doing okay I guess? I beat that indie game I mentioned in my last post. It... could have been a better game, I guess.I know it has sequels, but to my knowledge, only one of those sequels got localized. Meh.

As for Melody of Memory, which I also mentioned last post, I finished that in... less than a week. It seems like it was mostly using a summary of the series, from Kairi's POV, plus a few new story bits as the excuse plot for a rhythm game. It works, I guess. Blegh, my brain isn't cooperating with anything I want to dig into on this, though.

My brain doesn't cooperate with much of anything, to be honest.

I'm still trying live streaming here and there. I've had a bit of a drop off in activity, but that's normal for the cold part of the year... for everything with me. I may or may not have some kind of seasonal thingy. And the shit show this year has been certainly doesn't help. Makes it a little harder to do stuff that needs doing, you know? Like... for the sake of my live streaming, I should probably get a second monitor. Playing console games via the OBS feed is a royal pain in the ass. There's a slight latency that can be a problem in games and things within games that need precise timing (like wall jumping in Super Mario 64). So, another screen to play on without the latency would be good. I even have enough money to get one. But I keep putting it off. See above about my brain being uncooperative. Most of my streaming lately has been Minecraft as a result.

And of course my brain has kind of stalled on any kind of writing. All the blegh.

So yeah. That's where things are at for me.
fox_the_kitsune: (Default)
Aside from spending the week of the election with a bad cold, things haven't been too much different from the last... however many months since I started posting here again. Still kind of chugging along on KHUX, though... speaking of which... I did manage to run into some spoilers for that courtesy of TV Tropes and the fact that Japan gets the story updates way before anyone else. Of course, it's been long enough since the last update that I wasn't 100% certain what I was reading were spoilers at first.

I'm not going to discuss these spoilers now. Maybe if my brain feels like properly processing anything when I can see those scenes myself.

Other than that, my copy of Melody of Memory came last night, since I pre-ordered it for release day delivery. I'll probably start that later today, though my sister's already playing it.

A couple days ago, I started playing an indy RPG called Alphadia. It's... okay, I guess. I mean, it has sequels, so it must have been good enough for that. Although, I'm playing this on 3DS and I only know of the sequels from a tropes listing. I'm guessing they're either mobile or PC games. Meh. Something else to discuss after getting further, I guess.
fox_the_kitsune: (Sniff)
One of these days I should redo my icons. I'm also considering creating sticky posts for things people might want quick access to that it wouldn't make sense to stick on my profile. Although, the only thing I can think of for that right now is fan fiction.

I just found out that the latest Kingdom Hearts game now has a demo available. My sister is already downloading it to her Switch. Considering that I already have a bunch of demos on mine that I haven't gotten around to and I really don't want another one sitting there to forget about, I may just borrow hers to try the demo... though... I'm just going to buy the game anyway. The only real reason to poke the demo is to play something of the game now.

I don't really have anything else going on.
fox_the_kitsune: (Blegh)
Sometimes ya' just need to scream, ya' know?

Blargh

I live, kind of. Not much going on. Started replaying Ocarina of Time, partly because of listening to some really nice covers of the music and partly because of watching some people playing a randomizer of it. I want to play a randomizer myself, but it seems like a good idea to play the normal game first and then maybe play something else between that and the randomizer.

My brain has stalled out a little bit on fan fiction, but that's at least partly brain weirds and, more recently, partly my messy monthly visitor. It doesn't help that there's a scene I kind of really want to write, but it's like way later. I mean, I probably should just have a document for things that come later that my brain wants to write now. I've done it before, but the brain is being a butt about it now.

Also uh... how 'bout that latest story stuff in KHUX? If it wasn't approaching bed time as I'm writing this and my brain were cooperating more, I might actually want to yap about this a bit. But brain and bed are interfering in different ways. Maybe I will yap about this in another post soon-ish maybe.
fox_the_kitsune: (Blegh)
I did not mention, in my last post, that I have a toothache. Then again, it hadn't gotten bad enough by then to contact a dentist. It may have only just been starting, but I'm not quite sure. The lack of insurance doesn't help. I have since been to the dentist. It seems to have been some combination of an infection and something really crammed in between my teeth. Last time I'd had pain like this, it had been an abscess. But nothing showed up on the X-ray. The dentist gave me an antibiotic, which helped a bit, but I was still hurting a lot. I don't floss anywhere near as often as I should and it was in doing so yesterday that I dislodged something and felt better rather quickly. My mouth is still a little tender, but I am otherwise doing better. Whether or not I need anything else tended to depends on what it's feeling like after I finish the antibiotic and maybe giving it a little time after that. Or maybe even discussing it at the checkup I scheduled for next month.

As far as any games go, still stuck on KHUX. But I finished up the available story quests in Dark Road. I really should play some of the games I've bought and haven't played yet, but my brain kind of wants that I go and play some critical difficulty things on other KH games. I'm tempted, but I'm also trying to decide whether or not I want to livestream it and if I do, is that going to be something I start earlier in the day and try to do a long stream, probably with a lunch break? I don't know, but I'm thinking of it.

I have made very little progress in fan fiction and I think it's mostly prodding other time lines rather than working on the KH/Minecraft crossover. Blegh.

Crap, I just looked at my profile and now I feel old. There's a couple defunct rps listed there and other stuff. Yeesh.
fox_the_kitsune: (What's up?)
Still kind of chugging along on all the things mentioned in the last post. Got a little side tracked from the KH/Minecraft crossover by other things in my fic stuff.

Sometime after my last post I caught up to the latest quest available in UX (930)... and I can't beat it because of course not. I don't have enough decently powerful speed medals that also either increase the count or just don't take it down. I do have a magic medal that will reset the count, but that's with its supernova. I don't know how much that would help, especially given that the count is only 3. I'm a little stuck with Dark Road too, but that's more of a level grinding issue.

I don't have anything else to really talk about. Not unless you want me to get into politics and I don't think I have the energy for that right now...
